Welcome
--to our family website.
Summer time is here, finally, although a few more sunny days would be great! I have added a new page called Lewis County, WA - there are quite a few area attractions, events and activities! Take a look for yourself.
McLane Creek Nature Trail
Recently, I had a chance to go on a nature hike through some of our wet lands. The wet lands were so peaceful - a family of baby ducks greeted us while we rested and watched them play. Here's one of the little guys - he was 'talking' up a storm, and swimming from each lilly pad leaf to the next.
Mima Mounds Natural Preserve
The mysterious Mima Mounds is only an hour from my house, yet this is the first time I took a walk around to see them. Legends attribute them to prehistoric giant gophers or Indian burial mounds. More realistically, scientists believe they may be the remnants of a geological formation created by the last ice age. They cover an area of 625-acres of rolling prairies near Littlerock, WA. They are defintely an interesting site to behold.
