Down by the River

Down by the river

Went down by the river for some fun photos. We were trying to take a few of Tess to add to her senior collection - since she got her braces off just a few weeks before this! I set up my tripod and got a group picture of my girls with me. Outdoors is my favorite backdrop for photos.

Tess Graduated & Off to Germany!

Tess GradTess Graduated Onalaska High School a couple weeks ago. It was such a happy day for family and friends of Tess.

Her great grandma Marie made her graduation cake - after years of being retired at cake baking/decorating. Grandma did a great job - pictures below of the cake.

GAPPA few days ago, Tess flew to Germany with the GAPP exchange program - via Iceland. She now has two stamps on her passport! She's already taken so many wonderful pictures - can't wait to see them all!

Pictured to the right is Tess & Anika. Last fall, she stayed with us for her visit with the GAPP program. She's from Bayreuth, Germany and now Tess is staying with her family.

Onalaska History

Mill Pond Onalaska

Nestled along the Lewis and Clark Trail, we are half-way between Seattle, WA and Portland, OR.

At one time Onalaska had the largest logging mill in the state.

The smokestack towers above the quiet little town, watching over the mill pond, where you catch a nice trout for dinner.

Onalaska, WA

The pace is slower in this quiet little country town. It's not too hard to find us. We are located halfway between Seattle, Washington and Portland, Oregon - off the I-5 corridor. East Lewis County is just a little ways past Bear Canyon (hwy 508) or Mayfield Lake (hwy 12). On a clear day Mt. St. Helens looms her awesome sight over our little town. Mt. Rainier is beautiful in the backdrop of many landscape pictures here. On your travels east towards the towns of Morton, Packwood and White Pass, you will be able to see Mt. Adams nestled behind Mt. St. Helens. Read more.
